  1. Good morning, I love the photo of your Yost kayak, I have a new fethercraft, and wont to mount a sail, how have you mounted your sail, as its very similar in design to mine , best for the new year Mick M

  2. Ben,
I was in the EC last year and very much admired your xcr. So much so that it has insipred my next boat. I tried, unsucessfully, to acquire plans for the xcr. I am going with a modified trilars. My question is about your akas, could you tell me what they are made out of? Thanks

    • Hi Scott. My akas are 2″ OD aluminum. Each section is 5′ long and they are connected in the center with a 1.875″ diameter insert. Are you planning to be in the EC this year?

      • Thanks. No, I work in Elections so no time this year. I am planning to be at the start and then drive down to cp1 to do some paddling, but have to get back by Sunday night.
I hope to run it next year in the trilars. I want to differ from the plans so that the amas can be taken in quickly for paddling in the WW. I am building a mast with roller reefing similar to yours last year. I also plan to skirt the entire cockpit as well.
