In the last three challenges I have sailed Finger Mullet down to my folks house in Long Key. It is thirty miles but a nice relaxing sail after the challenge. There is a super wide ramp that works well but I am skipping the sail this year and need a ramp near the finish that can handle a 14 ft beam. The ramp at finish is not wide enough. The breakdown takes some acreage so not only does the ramp need to be wide but need some space where I am not in folks way. DWM

There is a private club a little north of the finish. Not sure how to set up a haul out there or if it is wide enough but my recollection is it was very big

Try calling the Carribean Club, I believe they have a wide ramp, they are in key largo and bay side. If not them, then google Harry Harris park, they have a nice boat ramp, it is south of sunset cove, but it is ocean side, so you would have to go thru Tavernier creek to get to bay side. If that doesn't work, maybe try the Key Largo sailing club, they are bayside.

Thanks! That ramp looks perfect but doesn't show up on the carribean clubs online pictures, is it part of the carribean club? I remember drinking beer at the club (being a Bogart fan) and don't believe they had cleaned the place since he left. DWM

I never used it, but I'm pretty sure it's part of the Crib.

Thanks for bringing this topic up and thank you Deke for the intel. DWM, what did the Caribbean Club say when you called? Do I need to make prior arrangements with them to haul out my boat there or did they say it was open for public use?

They are open pretty much all the time. Just see the bartender to pay your fee of $10 a day. Mrs Mullet is going down early and plans on dropping the trailer there so she isn't dragging it around more than nessesary. I will miss my sail this year but this is a pretty convenient arrangement. DWM

Sounds like I'll want to run up a bar tab too while I'm there. Thanks again for the info.
