   The OkoumeFest Challenge and Ultra Marathon are coming up fast. The payment period starts March 1 and registration ends March 31. We have a great new facility at Camp Wright for the start and finish: cabins, tent sites, pool, campfire ring, and more. The award dinner will be held at Camp Wright too.

   We have a good campsite for CP1 and Janes Island State Park and I can get more sites if we get more challengers.

   Remember too that the OFC2015 counts toward the Trifecta. What do you get if you complete a WaterTribe Trifecta? A 10% discount on all WaterTribe events the following year. And this is cummulative from year to year for up to 50% off as long as you keep finishing a Trifecta. If you miss a Trifecta your discount resets.

   Last year only two, COJones and Puma, finished the Trifecta. Who will do it this year?

   Trifecta Events:

   • Everglades Challenge - Required
   • OkoumeFest Challenge or Minnesota Voyageurs Challenge - Required
   • BlackBeard Challenge - Required

   OK Chief, here's a shameless plug for the UFC as equal to two required Trifecta events. It includes the EC and adds something like 860 miles of watery challenges plus 40 miles of asphalt for good measure. Also, at $1200 (I think it was) it's not a sneaky cheap way to get a future discount.

   Looking at the satellite maps, Camp Wright appears to have a rocky shore. Will the launch be at the same beach as last year?

   First, finishing the UFC gets you a lifetime discount of 25%.

   Second, part of the UFC is the EC so it qualifies as the first part of the Trifecta.

   So let's say that somebody who has not already done a UF does EC2015, OFC2015, and BBC2015. They would get a Trifecta credit of 10% for all WaterTribe Challenges in 2016.

   So then let's say that same person does the UF2016 with a 10% credit applied. Upon finishing the UF2016 a 35% credit would be applied to all future challenges. So then that challenger does the OFC2016 at a 35% discount and also does the BBC2016 at a 35% discount earning a Trifecta and another 10% discount. In 2017 that person would get a 45% discount.

   Note that there is a cummulative discount limit of 50% so this challenger is almost at the limit. Note also that Trifectas have to be maintained to keep their discounts. UF discounts are lifetime.

   I probably should put a page on the site to define all this.

   Yes, Camp Wright does have a mostly rocky shore, but there is a small sand beach suitable for the finish. We plan to launch at the same beach just south of Camp Wright. More details will be added to the site over the next several days.

   The campsite for the OFC2015 CP1 will be at Janes Island State Park at campsite 48 which is near the marina. I will get more campsites if more people signup.

   Note that OFUM2015 uses a virtual CP and there are no designated campsites at this time.
