There's always a lot of talk about saving sailing. I'm a huge believer that having events like the ones WT puts on are exactly what the sport needs and are an exciting an innovative way to bring new people into the sport. I figure tooting our own horns is good for sailing and kayaking and all the various kindred spirits that form the WT. That's why I asked if we could get a little front page love from the editor at the popular website Sailing Anarchy. He said "Sure, if you write it!" So I did. They posted it last night for your reading enjoyment, with typos and all:

Mistermoon,
Great write-up on Sailing Anarchy! I used to go to their site daily until I got tired of all the foul language (videos, etc.) I'm surprised that they didn't require at least one cuss word.

mistermoon,
Very very nicely written, easy to follow, exciting piece - good on ya. These type of small boat events have been under the radar of the macho sailors from the one-design, round-the-bouys world for far too long.
Your article paints an appropriate picture of what it means to enter and survive a genuinely 'tough' sailing race.
An article that should bring many newcomers to this type of sailing - and maybe even get the wannabe followers off their duffs (that would be me for starters).
I salute your good work for the sport,

Thanks for all your journalistic efforts in covering the 2013 Everglades Challenge. Your stories, photographs, insight and contact with the racers and their shore teams made all the difference for us bystanders hoping to make sense of the adventure.
Best of luck next year, and see ya on SA!
