I have opened registration for the 2018 Everglades Challenge, Ultra Marathon, and Ultimate Florida Challenge.
Folks in the UM2017 will get a partial credit that can be applied to any of those events. Just signup for the event you want to do and then send me an email that includes your WaterTribe name and remind me that you were on the beach for UM2017.

Did you mean to raise the UFC entry fee by $500? I was just about to sign up and saw that, and my heart sank.... I've been saving up money and vacation time while building Osprey Chick and supporting a family of 5, but an extra $500? That's almost my entire required equipment budget. I can see raising the EC by $50. But $1,295 is prohibitive for a single person. Please say it isn't so!

Yes, the price has been raised. This is an event that consumes a full month spent on the road chewing up cash. I lowered the rate for the previous couple of Ultimate Floridas in the hopes we would get more participation. It didn't happen.
Recent events in Florida and North Carolina have had an impact which doesn't allow those events to supplement the UF.
Regarding the Coastal Challenge, it is very similar. There is not enough participation.
Even if you are in the UF2018, you can still get credit for the EC2018 Derby. Winning the derby could help your budget a lot.
