   What an awesome year and better yet it is still going on! I got to play and now I get to watch.

   I loved watching Miss Paula’s facial expressions from the very start at Desoto. Top of class managers at all the check points! Ask or find out who it was that fed you or gave you that special treat. I always love seeing that friendly skeeter bitten guy at Flamingo, Thanks Noel.  

   Hey remember these people and Chief for making it happen. They stand behind the scenes get so little recognition and will bail you out if your world comes to an end. So many make this work and I have no doubt Miss Dennise (SandDollar) is in there somewhere and will be until the UFC is over. One of my Heroes will be the last to see the UFC boys and girls off on there final sprint this year. I remember what Ridgerunner did for me when I hit Cedar Key.  Take care of them Tyro.

   Keith, you were right at Fort De Soto to warn about the wind hurting the shoulders.  I had three windy days to deal with.  There is as much as one can do against the wind before coming to a stand still.  And what a cry for having wind we had before the challenge started!

   It was easy to land at a CP a bit discouraged but the smiling faces of ever present Paula, Mike, and Nole went a long way! They put in long hours to meet and greet and fret about incomings!

   Hot dogs at CP1, Mike feeding the battered incoming cheese and tortillas at 0300, and the wine that showed up in Flamingo! I think thats how they got crew to get on sailing ships 100 years ago and it still works today:)

   Of course without Chief choosing the worst weather week historical records provide none of this would have been possible!

   For those newcomers that dropped out consider it (like most of us have) a learning experience and come back for the next EC. The weather couldn't possibly be any worse... right?

   Ditto on the thank-yous to Chief, PaddleDancer, SailBirdMike and Root, but I also owe a BIG thanks to Sherry Olson for the ride to and from the Hospital for some stitches on Day 2.

   She got me there and back quicker than any ambulance and even hooked me up with some much-needed hot food. I thought it was over for me for sure, but I was back in the race within an hour and a half!

   My first EC/WaterTribe experience was top-notch thanks to all you behind the scene guys and girls.
