I did some extensive testing of the new feature that allows two SPOTs in one boat and it all worked as planned. You can switch back and forth or run both at the same time -- with one caution. Don't run both SPOTs in tracking mode. You just double the load on the system without gaining anything.
I recommend running one SPOT and keeping the other in protected reserve. That way if the one exposed to the elements fails you have another to deploy.
Another way is to run one SPOT in tracking mode and use the other for OK or Custom messages. Of course using this method both are exposed to the weather.
Another tweak is that when you push the Custom message it will be interpreted as camping or anchoring and a tent icon will show in your track. Not a biggy but there it is. At this time it will only show the tent after you leave because your latest position is your icon. I am thinking of changing that for the tent icon only but have not made up my mind.
I also may have fixed the issue with speed not showing correctly. That will require new testing. Your existing tracks won't change, but new tracks should be better. Let me know if you notice any issues.
Finally, the details displayed will now include the crew name. For example, Chief_Honcho for my latest track. Again, you will see this in new tracks.
