So it used to be that Class 1 allowed sails, Class 2 didn't. So no matter what you paddled, if you didn't have a sail you went to Class 2 so you weren't competing against sails. Now Class 2 is divided into sail and no-sail category. Fast kayaks like the Epic 18x and Kayakpro Marlin still fit in Class 1 with a length to beam ratio less than 10.99:1
It appears Class 1 has NOT been divided into sail and no-sail categories.
I see entries for EC2020 in class 1 listed without and with sail.
I can imagine the uproar if a sail equipped kayak beats a non equipped kayak, both entered Class 1.
Shouldn't it be changed so that both Class 1 and Class 2 have sail and no-sail categories?
Shouldn't it be required that a boat with a 10:1 ratio for example, goes in class 1 no matter what? I mean Class 2 should be limited to ONLY those boats that are 10:99:1 or more.
