Rain for the Okefenokee Swamp to fill Suwannee and St Mary's Rivers

This morning I awoke to heavy rain at 5 am. The radar showed a large area of rain with some heavy cells moving East from Alabama and Florida into Georgia.

We had 1/4" in one hour already this morning. I guess my gear will not dry to well in my truck bed - D'oh!

The radar looks promising that the Okefenokee Swamp will get a bit.

However, the forecast radar is hinting at the rain wrapping up into Ga and down into FL, will miss most of the swamp.

The storm currently in California is expected to bring some more rain soon. The local news is alreadyu predicting home severe weather over the weekend and on Monday .

Who is doing the rain dance?

I'm telling y'all, go move furniture, It always pours then!

I've been helping a friend move all kinds of furniture,
and I'm doing a bunch of floor work and the furniture has to go ....
and guess what? Yeah, RAIN! and been for days and days it seems.
Go ahead, and play with the forces of mother nature, spit in her eye, she'll spit back!

Here is the link to watch for the flow rate and water depth. Currently at 3.0 and 68 on 2-15 at 5am. The passing showers do raise the levels seen at the site for a few hours and then go back to the rates above. Forcast now for the weekend as Brad mentioned is for heavy rain. Forcast for the next 48 hours is for 1-3 inches and covers most of SE with one spot forcast to get 3-5 in Georgia above the swamp. This is suppose to be the good soaking rain unlike the passing showers that I have been watching. It will be interesting to see what effect it has. I am now doing the dance and hoping that it gets back to what I considered the bare mininum for hitting the water at Fargo which was a discharge rate of 15 and depth of 8-9.

when you walked out to the middle it just covered you feet, aprox. 8 inches. Downstream for 1/2 mile there was many spots deeper but some less. Flow rate was there but I would bet at the current levels it is mainly pooling since no flow is a rate of 2.0.

But....I am hearing drums very loudly.....JollyRoger

I hate to be one that tells bad news, But we didn't get much rain at all not much of a change in the river. I hope we get a lot more in the next few weeks .Big Oak Tree
