It would be CWolfe's Kurt Vonnegut's quote.

I kept telling the guys that I was paddling at Flamingo to get their Four or more hours of sleep. They bedded down about 8 pm on Thursday night. The tide was going to change around midnight and the wind forecast to cross Florida Bay was not improving, so I planned to wake them at 10 pm to head out into Florida Bay so the last of the Flooding Tide would push us through tin can.
Sandy Bottom had been lobbying to leave Flamingo by 9 or 10 pm. I told her we would leave before midnight. I bedded down at 8:30 and set my alarms for 9:30 pm after one hour's rest. At 9:30, I awoke to my 5 alarms set on my Pathfinder watch. I saw SandyBottom stirring.
I packed-up my bedding, and asked SandyBottom to wake OneEyedJake and BarksATWaves while I prepared my boat that was tied-up to the slip in the marina.
So we were off about 11pm.
I also invited these guys on day 3 to paddle 24 hours straight with me from Picnic Island near Sanibel, and they agreed. However, after paddling 24 hours from Picnic Island to Everglades City, getting permits at the Ranger's Station (painful iterative process that takes tens of minutes for each permit), paddling the 2.5 miles to CP2, stopping at CP2 where I encouraged hem to get rest (1 hour while I napped for only 30 minutes under the tree on the mud beach), then we paddled for 4 more hours before we got real rest and after 20 more miles to Darwin's Place.
So if you are paddling with me and camping and you hear, " go ahead and get your beauty sleep", be prepared to be rousted from your cozy camp to take advantage of more favorable winds and tides,
Sweet Dreams!

My motto was "sail fast, sleep long". Scareman beat me but I did finish and I was pretty well rested.
