I am looking for a good expedition kayak. The most comfortable boat I have paddled was a QCC 700x. Can't find one on the used market. Thought I would ask if anyone here knows of one in good condition for sale before I bite the bullet and order a new one.

Has anyone used the QCC 600 for one of these, or is it too small? I am 5'10 160#. Did EC in 20 ft cat in 2009. Lookin to paddle some :).

There are two 700's listed on Paddling.net.
Look under the classified.
On the 600 vs. the 700: We are a QCC family having a 700, a 600, and a 10X.
I am 5'-8" and paddle the 700. I have tried the 600 on many occasions, and although it is almost or just as fast as the 700 if I were to try the EC again, (which I won't after failing in a big tandem on the worst two weather ones) it would be in the 700. At your height I would definately want the 700, mainly for the larger capacity storage.

I have a blue used Current Designs Kevlar Extreme, slightly faster than QCC700 and hand made in Canada. It in great shape and is my go-to boat for most anything. It is really an expedition boat although I did much of my training in this boat. It has the "Smart Track" rudder system is 18' 10" x 21.25" x ~ 50 lbs Kevlar® very fast and loves water the rougher the better the more it shines. $1500

It is Same boat as now called Nomad GTS - Kevlar® 50 lbs. - $3,799+ accessories and tax.

It was going to be my race boat for Florida while I was to use the blue one for training while working up north. My temporary physical condition has me selling a few Qajaqs and boats to pay rent and medical bills and sort thing out on the road to spinal recovery. $3200

There is a great value on a 18x posted on this forum. I think it was 1800 with a skirt and something else.
Everybody has their opinions. My opinion after using an epic 18x and qcc 700, the 18x is much more desirable in about all ways once you take care of the seat issue. As long as you have room you can make any boat very comfortable with the right seat and padding.
My 18x was very uncomfortable, until I tore out the notoriously uncomfortable seat and carved a foam seat for it. Once I did that I could sit in the boat comfortably for 30 mile stretches.
Here are some pictures of mine with some over kill reinforcement rigging.

We have 2 Current Designs Kevlar Extremes available--one a regular and one "high volume." Beautiful boats in excellent condition. We are not using them, so no sense keeping them around. I posted them here some time ago, just have never gotten around to putting them on Craig's list.

I have a QCC700x for sale. It is in fantastic condition and comes with a never used Flat Earth Code Zero sail with quick release hardware on boat already. No holes in boat, drilled or otherwise. I'm asking $1400 for the kayak, which comes with goodies.

How old is it ?
Is it fiberglass, kevlar, or carbon/kevlar ?
What is the color of it ?

I know a bit about the boat. Carbon Kevlar, 2011 or so.
Not the same sail. Let me know if you want more pics Terry

Same exact sale, but yellow instead of green.

I'm really hoping to keep it in the Tribe. There are two outsiders that want to see it. Busted rudder, I can always use more pix. I always take lot of Pix but never of myself.

Wingkeel I am very interested in your kayak, would use it in 2 WT events this year, and will be in the Tampa area tomorrow. Please call me at 352-634-4038. I am on a train (for the next many hours), so u may need to try a couple times. Thanks.

Also thanks GaitorBatesMate and everyone else for chipping in on advice and leads.
finally KnotSynced, as u started this thread, and I am ideally planning to emerge with one of these yaks or one like it, let me know if there is something u are going to do so I don't interfere with your quest.
thanks!

Many thanks for all the input from all. This turned up a better selection of challenge ready boats than a national Craigslist search.
LRock, I am set. Decided on one of PawDawg's Current Designs after some research on the extreme / nomad. Take your pick. Thanks for the courtesy.

KnotSynced thanks for your info, glad you found a great boat. I am happy to report I did to, thanks to Wingkeel and Busted Rudder. Chekika, PawDawg, and Ridgerunner still have great boats out there for anyone looking, I am sorry I could not get to yours in time to see them.
