I have added a new Training Forum under the Safety and Technique Forum. Proper training will add to both your safety and technique and is part of the WaterTribe "Life changing experience." Picking a training regimen is not easy because there are several really good choices
P90X is one of the best workout systems out there in my opinion. It doesn't take a lot of equipment, but it does take a huge commitment to stick with it. It will provide the basic foundation of fitness that will compliment your paddling, rowing and sailing.
So what is your favorite and least favorite P90X workouts?
My favorite is the Plyometrics day. It is roughly one hour that burns a lot of calories and gives a whole body workout with emphasis on legs and core. Absolutely a fun time.
The one I really have to whip myself to do is the yoga day. Yuck! Now yoga is great if you are the only male in a class with 20 very fit females (sorry it's just the truth). But if you are in your tiny workout room (spare bedroom) all by yourself, it is just boring while being hard as heck to do. And the full length mirror on one wall makes me want to puke. Don't get me wrong. It's a great workout and does wonders for your inner soul - so they say. But it is 90 minutes of drudgery and pain.
CrossFit, P90X, Insanity, Kettlebells - what's your favorite?
