Dan, Yes testing going ok I guess, I should be able to get it out late tomorrow again, will let you know how the fixes go. It has been fun and of course I need to build a new boat now and incorperate changes that I wish I had done differently. Can't wait to see yours going together.
Teak, you can read about vortex panels here http://www.ikarus342000.com/Antivortexp.pdf
I have used vortex generators on experimental aircraft for over 20 years now and they work on wings along with tip end plates and they make an amazing difference. I am only just getting to test them on hulls. One thing is for sure is that water acts much different than air and is still puzzling to me but challenging as well and fun and cheaper. (but not cheap!)
I could pedal my TI at 3 mph so I was hoping for more speed with just the drive but it will have to do. When not pedaling and the drive is in place I lock the drive so that the blades are straight down and act as a dager altho somewhat small. I am working on "stops" for the blades when they are horiz. and even with the bottom of the boat. If I can get the stops correct and at the right angle the blades should act as hydro-foils and produce some lift but that is way down the list of things to do. Hopefully I will have more time than I did at NCC in order to take a closer look at your cat. Your hulls sure look like planning hulls to me. Have you got it there yet?
