Below is a photo of the guys taken at the Boynton Beach fuel dock getting ready to ride out the front coming through. Were in good spirits and looking forward to get moving again. Had to row up most of Ft Lauderdale due to no wind. Bridge openings were not working in their favor so they de-masted to make quicker time through them.

Smart move tying up. I posted a tornado warning for you guys on WCTSS list @1500 but it didn't show up (?). And can't find you on the tracker map (and don't do Facebook). When are you expecting to pass through West Palm Beach? Want to drop you some cold beers -- or whatever you want -- from the Flagler (north) Bridge. Or let me know if you need anything -- I can meet you at the Palm Beach Sailing Club just north of the superyacht marina in West Palm Beach (west side), a couple of miles north of the Flagler (northernmost) ICW bridge. OTOH, if you get to the Port of Palm Beach (another mile past PBSC) around low tide at 1815, you'll get a nice flood tide push from there all the way up the north part of the Lake and the canalized part to the Donald Ross Bridge area in PB Gardens where the tide starts flowing to/from the north (Jupiter Inlet). BTW, just heard now that the tornado watch remains in effect until 1900, though the radar looks pretty good.

message to DonKeyHoTey from Mrs. Jarhead. You can track Team JL by going on the Old WaterTribe website and find the Ultimate Florida Challenge and click on map. It can be a little difficult to find Jarhead's icon but if you look now you will see them near Boynton Beach. I wish you could see them when they are close to your home. They are in good spirits and would be even more so if they could see a fellow WaterTriber!!! Mrs. Jarhead (Sheila)

Team J-L was just hailed by a cheering section somewhere between the 8th Stand the Briny Breezes Bridges. This was really cool an undoubtedly set up NY a 'Triber. Any body know who informed these well-wishers of our position?

Left Boynton Beach after last night's storm and made good progress, getting hailed by DonKeyHoTay from the Flagler Bridge at 0100.
At 0300 Winds became light and on the nose, prompting Team J-L to grab some rest on the hook before entering Lake Worth Creek.
We were up again at 0600 and fought our way against foul wind and current for several hours before taking another break to wait for the tide to change enabling us to get past the Indiantown Bridge and head toward Jupitor.
We should be under way again @ 1300 hrs.Posted 7 years ago # -
Tide changed but wind has been howling from the West all afternoon. We got slammed by big gusts too many times so we waited a couple hours for a break. Team J-L is back on the move at 1800 hrs.

Tracking map says you are in Vero Beach today. My parents live in Vero Beach in case you need anything.
Good luck!

Team J-L has reached Stage Point 2 at Sebastian State Park, sending our OK message at 1616 hrs. With 4 days of headwinds and foul current, this was a hard-earned milestone.
Spirits are high, we're gonna keep moving.Posted 6 years ago # -
Team J-Lcaight a nice break yestarday afternoon with fair winds from Sebastion to Melbourne, but was plagued with yet more headwinds last night and is currently becalmed and manning the oars. 150+ miles to Stage Point 2.

Correction . . . Stage Point 3, not 2

We had favorable winds from early yesterday afternoon until a little ways up Mosquito Lagoon. Wind died and thr tide turned against us so we caught a little shut from @ 0300 til sunrise. Currently with no wind in sight and against a 1kt+ current.
Morale is high though we are getting tired from 5 days of no wind or foul wind causing us row or beat upwind.
The good news is we are only 100 miles from Stage Point 3, Fort Clinch.Posted 6 years ago # -
Sounds like a tough slog. I look forward to the updates so keep them coming and good luck!

Just talked to J&L on the phone. Still having fun but slow going. They are both building up thier arms rowing, so they should be in great shape for the paddle. The bay shrimpers have all thier at attention at night.
Etchman and I will bring the Kruger to them tommorow. (thanks Micro Tom.)
GO!!!!

Thanks a lot Whitecaps & Etchimin for your help and especially MicroTom for the loan of his cruiser. You guys are the BEST!
Jarhead and I are getting a little beat up but are getting more pumped the closer we get to Fort Clinch.
We just left the Halifax Sailing Association (AeroSparrow's Home Port!) on the Halifax River in Daytona Beach. Commodore Bill Field and member Pete Burg let us beach "Moon Shadow" so we could reprovision at a nearby 7-11 and even let us fill.up our water bottles. Made it out if there in no time flat. Back on the road with less than 90 miles to Fort Clinch.LL

Awesome Watertribers Etchemin and Whitecaps just came to our house to pick up the boat trailer to pick up Team J-L's Sea Pearl and drop off canoe from Tom Dyll at Fort Clinch . Many, many thanks for being such good friends! Sheila

As of 1445 hrs., Team J-L is waiting for the tide to change on the St. John's River. Multiple attempts to cross up stream & up wind have resulted in a loss of ground so we wait at anchor. Unreliable tide info on our GPS has us guessing, so we'll keep an eye on it and give it another shot soon.

At 1640, the boys are on the move again. By my reckoning they've got about 22 nm to Ft. Clinch. A little luck with wind and tides and they could be there sometime tonight, assuming they push straight through.
