We are going to have a record number of challengers on Inspection Day which is Friday, March 2, 2012. In order to speed up the process you can print out some of the forms and bring them with you along with the insurance fee that goes to the ACA which is $5 cash per person if you are not an ACA member.
You can find the PDF forms under the Events menu item in the new site.
We will have forms at shelter 13 so don't worry if you forget.
REMEMBER:
- Do not unload your boat until you have filled out your forms and turned them in.
- Do not drive on the beach access road until you have filled out your forms and turned them in .
- Do not drive on the access road unless you are in class 4, 5 or 6 AND have received permission from the event volunteers.
- Nobody is allowed on the access road unless they are in the event and have satisfied all the above criteria.
As you might surmise, I am taking a lot of heat from the park rangers over our abuse of the privilege of using that access road.
Volunteers will not be onsite until about 09:00 Friday morning. I urge everyone to start early and get it done early.
All CP and SP volunteers will have a short meeting at 13:00.
All SPOT renters and first time SPOT users will have a meeting at 14:00.
General meeting for all participants is at 15:00.
Turn left at the big T intersection to find shelter 13.
Read up on the parking situation. I will need your name, tag number and a check if you plan to park at Fort Desoto for the duration.
