Drove over to the Harlowe and stopped at the bridges and found a local unloading groceries to talk to. He said the harlowe has been cleared of trees and is getting used by those damn high speed boaters fron Raleigh. Also said it is very tidal and if wind sets up at either end it will add to or diminish the tidal flow.

We didn't see another boat on the Harlowe last year. Strong east winds are a problem for blowing all the water out of the creeks at either end, so keep that in mind and be prepared to go back to the ICW on Adams Creek if it looks like you'll get stuck in the mud.
Watch for fishing lines when going under the bridges.
