   What are the two best things you will carry this year?

   For me they will be my Jetboil and my Patagoina Nano Puff pull over. Feed me and keep me warm.

   What do you rate as 1st for your comfort? Who has got sleep comfy stuff? Bunny feet slippers animal PJ's and no Kiwi I know your sleep PJ.s

   Tell me I promise to keep it a secret!

   1) The $5 Walmart class IV throwable float cushions I sit on. Life would be hell without them.

   2) My Tilley hat. Not only are Tilleys the best $80(!) hat you can buy, they are the best hats you can buy period.

   Do you know how much weight I save, not carrying PJs?!

   MisterMoon, I was a total Tilley fanatic for years: I now find it doesn't keep enough sun off my face and neck--both from above when the sun's low, and the reflection off the water from below. I'm now a High UV Protection Buff and Kokatat Sunwester fanatic.

   So, two best things this EC:  Exped 7 down mat (same as every year); and it'll be a toss up between the Microburst to blow that Exped puppy up with, or my new Flat Earth sail--in the mail!--but yet untested.

   And if I had to add a third, my new found health. The meds are finally kicking in.

   During this past NCC my Garmin 60 CSx worked perfectly.

   My Olympus tough TG-810 camera shot both pictures and video without issues.

   Frogg Toggs rain suit worked excellent as an outer layer for us size challenged folks

   Ditto on the Garmin 60 CSx. Mine finally gave up the ghost after four ECs. Moral of the story: download your tracks immediately after an EC.

   My Exped Dreamwalker syn sleeping bag and air mat with chair adapter. Garmin 640 Chart plotter and 76 backup. Hey Chief do I still need to carry my 3 lbs of charts if I have 2 gps's and one is a CP? Never mind I know the answer! And my Harmonica.

   We have to carry "sacrosanct camp clothes" anyway, so mine are Campmor fleece pants and Patagonia fleece full-zip top ... they serve as jammies if it's cold and also as camp clothes..  The all-in-one outfit and, more importantly, they keep this cold-weather wuss toasty warm. Hate being cold.

   Have trouble picking what my second best item would be.  Toss up between my Oregon 400c GPS - absolutely love the touch-screen - or maybe my Chotas, which allow me to get in and out of the boat without getting my feet wet.  Staying dry is the first step in staying warm!

   You're probably too tired to care when you hit the sack but baby powder will take off all the moisture, salt and grime off for a comfortable sleep.

   I use a pith helmet on my head, has good aerodynamics and will stay on your head when it's windy.

    My wife, (gatorbait) -She feeds me, keeps me warm, does all the navigating, and how she does it I'll never know, but she puts up with all my bitching!

    Hey Kiwi. Yes I do still prefer it. The Nano has replaced my fleece, and if it gets cooler I cover it with the micro puff that has a hood and pockets.

    My two favorite items?  My Stohlquist spray top (we use 2 piece dry suits on Clarity, and I usually wear the spray top instead of the dry top unless conditions are really bad) and, well, um, my french press.

    And although I probably shouldn't let this secret out, Clarity is stable enough to brew coffee on when underway!
