Just booked mine. No water front sites left in Area 1 for Fri night. Don't forget to reserve your spot.
Will be my first time in March, could anyone recommend a hotel that is close by the park? Thks and safe Holiday?
I am in site #16. Booked Thurs-Sun just in case there is a fun start!
Want to see what your potential campsite looks like?
To see the campsite photo using the the Pinellas County reservation app, click on the block in the calendar to open a detailed window of the campsite that includes a photo. The block will be located for the date (from the top) and beside the campsite # (to the right).
You can also use this link. It is a bit easier than finding a date, and then finding an available site. https://www.campsitephotos.com/campground/fl/fort-de-soto-park/photos/fort-de-soto-park-001
If you need a link to the campground map itself - find the campground map here: http://www.pinellascounty.org/park/pdf/campground.pdf
See you in March!

Closest hotels are in St. Pete Beach or Pass-a-Grille. The Keystone motel is a favorite for a few from WI.
Conquistador, of course brother! I chose the site that backs to the one we had last year. (shorter walk to the water for fishing on Thus & Fri
With border issues and the possibility that I may have to self quarantine after being in the states, I haven't booked. If things improve I'll be the guy sleeping in random shorelines on a catamaran
There is a brand new hotel in Tierra Verde next to the Island Grill. (On the Bayway, the road that heads to Ft DeSoto.) The Magnusson Hotel is off the beaten path, but close too.
For your safety don't try to go the cheap in the area. The few times I did it seems most of the other rooms were booked by dope dealers and the glass eyed customers wandered the parking lot at all hours. I shared a room with a friend at one of these and we had a roach killing contest over a few cold ones and if I remember correctly I won 7 to 5. DWM
