   REMINDER: If you intend on camping at the Ft. DeSoto campground prior to the start of the 2019 Florida WaterTribe events, you may reserve a space up to six months before. The time is approaching. Don’t wait. The sites sell out quickly.

   Also, please follow the rules of the campground regarding the number of vehicles, people, etc. per site. There were a few reports last year of issues and we want to keep the park happy. Thanks.

   ONLY A DOZEN CAMPSITES LEFT AT FT. DESOTO for Thursday and Friday nights before the EC. Thanks to our Lawless for the heads up.

   So, what is the deal at Fort Desoto?  For 4 years now, I have been trying to reserve a campsite at Fort Desoto during the EC week.  This  year, I had intended to reserve February 28 through March 3.  This is September, right?  6 months  in advance.  Today is exactly 6 monhts from the end date range I would like to have reserved. However, according to the website, there are 0 campsites available!  Come on!  What gives here?  did they really give up ALL the campsites up to the 3rd of March earlier today?  I tried making the reservations in August, but was advised that they do not reserve more than 6 months ahead.  So, what gives?  How can the folks above be reserving campsites more than 6 months ahead of time?  The folks at DeSoto said that was a non no.

   It's six months from the first night of your stay, not the last. So if you wanted to start your stay on February 28, you should reserve on August 28. I think the system will let you reserve at least 7 days beyond the start date.

   Thanks for getting back.  Did not know it would allow me to reserve from August 28th as March 1st 2nd and 3rd would be outside the 6 month window until September 1st, 2nd and 3rd. I tried several times this evening to make a reservation.  Every time I got a 0 campsites available.  

   Oh well.... :-((
