I'm going to have to announce parking information as I get it because I am still waiting for some answers.
If you have a campsite at Fort Desoto it includes the daily entry fee. Up to two cars in one campsite can get a pass for each day you are camped. Ask the rangers when your register.
You can buy an annual pass from the main office on Fort Desoto. Tell the gatekeeper you want to buy a pass and he or she will let you through. I am talking about the main office at the T intersection with the huge flag.
There is a ticket machine on the right a short distance before you get to the campground. This machine is limited to only 1 day of parking. There is another ticket machine at the boat ramp. The boat ramp machine will allow you to buy three days of parking. There are some issues with these machines and the boat ramp machine can be a bit confusing. I am working on this.
During normal hours there is a gatekeeper that will charge you $5 to enter the park AFTER the campground and boat ramp. If you have already purchased a parking pass you will have to show it.
The gate will be open for us at roughly 5:30 AM. No attendant will be on duty at that time so I suggest that you use the parking payment machines to get a pass for the day if you don't already have one.
So far there is no issue that should present too much trouble.
For those who want to leave a car with or without a trailer at Fort Desoto for the duration of the UM, you can buy up to three days at the boat ramp payment machine. Other than an annual pass, this is your only option. Be sure to leave a WaterTribe Logo sticker on your dash right next to your parking pass. You will get one of those on Friday.
For those who want to leave a car with or without a trailer at Fort Desoto for the duration of the EC, there are still several unknowns. I will add to this post as information becomes available. Watch this thread for more information.
For those who want to leave a car with or without a trailer at Fort Desoto for the duration of the UF, you have to buy an annual pass at the park office when you arrive. The price is $75 unless your are 65 or over and then it is roughly $50.
I have and am trying to buy an event parking permit that would cover everything for all of us, but so far that is not possible. They probably will have that available for next year. I am still trying.
