Well, it has been a real chore getting back into the regular routine of life. Physically, I came out of the Challenge better than I ever expected. My feet are fully recovered, except for some black toenails. I have resumed my canoe racing workouts and have a race scheduled for May.
I want to thank Chief, the volunteers and my support crew for making the Ultimate Challenge possible.
I have been asked to compare the Ultimate to the Yukon 1000. On the Yukon River I was going five miles per hour while eating a snack bar. In this year's Ultimate, I had to paddle hard just to keep from going backwards at times. The first stage to Key Largo alone was tougher than the Yukon 1000. In total effort, I would say the Ultimate was four times as tough as the Yukon 1000.
I would like to invite all of the Tribers to a charity Bar-B-Que dinner I am hosting in Longwood, FL on the banks of the Wekiva River. Chief, Salty Frog and Whale will join me in sharing our stories and photos
of the Ultimate Challenge. Click Here for details. It should be a fun evening.
