SandDollar and I had a great visit to Flamingo last week. It was a beautiful day and I was glad to have the opportunity to see CP3 and the American Crocodile so many of you talk about every year!
We had an opportunity to speak with the marina captain who was very welcoming, is familiar with the EC/Watertribe, and confirmed the following information:
· Flamingo store is open 7:00am-7:30pm (website differs but this is correct)
· Showers are available during store hours for $3. Payment is made in the store and you need to provide your own towel.
· A food truck will be available in March open the same hours as the store.
· Challengers may lie down next to their boats in the grassy areas only. No tents, bivy sacks or hammocks may be deployed.
· Mooring a boat in the marina for longer than four hours will require payment of an overnight fee of $2 per foot.
As an FYI:
· Renovation of the old motel building will begin in December to create a visitor center and restaurant. Neither will be completed by March 2020 but you may look forward to them in March of 2021.
· New Eco-tents are currently available in the campground area and may be reserved at http://www.flamingoeverglades.com.
