Does anyone know of a YouTube Website or reference for repairing polyurethane nicks on hulls of kayaks, like the Hobie AI? I have purchased both the heat gun and the soldering iron recommended by Hobie, along with Polyurethane rods. Have been trying to fix some minor scratches in the hull, but the final product does not appear to be seamless, like one would get with a fiberglass repair.
I noticed that on Dog's Life's AI, the bow appeared to have a much sharper cutwater on the leading edge than the standard AI. Is there some trick to making adjustments to the Polyurethane to make it very smooth and seamless? Also, Dog's Life had a V shaped hood mount, on his TI, which also seems to have been a Polyurethane modification. Any insights on how to do this?
Thanks
