Fingers crossed we're going to make it to the beach this year. Our son has just been disgnosed with Poststreptococcal glomerulonephritis (PSGN), and we're hoping not to be hospitalized. Fingers crossed!

Talking About Adventure In Small Boats
Oh no! Did you not teach him no getting ill before an EC? On a serious note, I am keeping fingers and toes crossed for you (him) and hope to see y'all on the beach.
That doesn't sound good at all. We hope for the best and a speedy recovery.
Stay solid Kiwi. Andrew is a tough boy! Give my love to fwkb. I will never forget her remark walking into your room one night with some dishes. The best be with you darling.

A speedy recovery for your son.
Danny
Sending our prayers your way. You helped Blue Moon a bunch, so we are sending it back!
Hoping Andrew recovers quickly is gonna make it first and foremost, then hope you all get to enjoy some R&R in Mey Largo, and finally hoping you make the EC.
Always an open cockpit onboard if you get in a bind and just need to "show-up and go!"
Thanks, folks--much appreciated.
We'll know with the next set of blood work on Tuesday whether the EC is a green, amber or red. Green: we all drive down together early Thursday morning. Amber: I drive down solo and FliesWithKiwiBird and the WeeOne fly down to Tampa Saturday or Sunday, pick the 4-Runner up from Fort de Soto and drive down to Key Largo for the week. Red: we're at home watching you all on the laptop.
Do you know how much Lego we've bought in the last week or so, to compensate for the pin cushion looking arms?

Making a go for it: leaving in a few minutes for the 12-hour drive. Family sadly staying at home--dogs are happy. See you all tonight!

Good luck Kiwi!! Glad to hear things are better with Andrew!!
I just now caught this thread and hope all is well with mini-Kiwi. Best of luck in the Challenge!
Last report was that mini-Kiwi was improving at pace. KB should be at DeSoto by now fending off coons.
Congratulations on your recent family expansion!
Floatsome
KiwiBird called in at 1815 from Sarasota Bay. She is having stomach issues and has stopped for the time being. She has met supportive locals and is in good spirits, although she says the conditions were very difficult today.

twinspirit has stopped for the nite, camp set and is eating, she will leave out in the morning after the storm.
she said it was rough going all day, head winds all day.
I heard from FliesWithKiwiBird just now, and KiwiBird is dropping out. She's still feeling ill, her tent blew over early this morning, the white caps in the marina are amazing, and she is enjoying scranbled eggs on a yacht at the moment. SandyBottom will pick her up this morning, as she and SOS aren't planning to leave Ft. DeSoto before this evening.
Clear, Floatsome
Arrived home last night, safe and sound. Stomach is still gripey, so probably the right decision to call it quits for this year (not like me at all ;) I'll be back next year, and hope to see everyone again in September at the NCC.
Thanks for all the support!

Sorry to hear that you had to drop out. Hope everthing turns out ok with your family.
Dang!!
Dang!!
Hi, Sorry to hear that you are ill and pulling out. Happy you are safe. Send My regard to your family.

I'm very sorry you had such bad luck, Kristen, and also that you won't be at Key Largo. Sheila and I were looking forward to seeing all of your family at the beach resort. We are staying at the same one--can't remember the name, but I know where it is. I'd tell you to cheer up, but you are always cheerful, so I doubt that's necessary.
