I'm looking for any detailed info/photo's on a couple of the home built boats in this years EC. I think they were crewed by Teak & Kokopedal and the white boat with Weedwarrior & Machette. I wish I had take more photo's on the beach this year.

A beautiful build, Jerry. A couple of questions:
(1) Is that sail stock (what boat?) or custom?
(2) What sail area in each sail?
(3) The sliding custom crossbeams are very cool. When the amas are slid out to their sailing mode, how many feet do the tubes overlap with the permanent mounts? (curious because I will be needing a sliding or folding set-up when I start a Tamanu build, either a Jim Brown Sea Clipper method or something like yours). --Wade

Teak, did you design the main hull or did it start out as something else?

I boat plans of the CLC double to start with, added 6" to the top sides, added 2 to beam( I was trying to a more dead rise but mostly just added to beam. the transom was a point but made a 12" wide transom, the aft storage is nice and big, the amas are the forward 16' of the actual topside of the kayak.
Kent of Blue Star Sails here in Chattanooga maid the sails main 115 and jib 55,he kept saying ,that is a lot of sail area for a 275 pound boat, was very fast in light winds. in strong winds I had some problems I need to work on so except for down wind, I reefed early and kept my speed down to about 7 knots, 12 knots surfing off shore the first day down wind, The thursday before the race was my first sea trail.
the amas are 8'-6" apart slid in, 12' slid out, My first design was to be able to slide in and out easy on the water but I did not have time to perfect them. they bind a bit. they over lap 2' when out, and but up a against each other when slid in.
I am going to move the boom from the mount on the boat, to having a yoke to rest against the mast about 18" to 24" up were the boom will be almost level. and have the foot of the sail cut off, I need the head clearance when seating up front.
