EC Training Trip 1 report

I've posted a trip report for our Training Trip 1, Ft Desoto to CKP 1. Here is the link:

We will meet for our next trip at Eldred's Marina in Placida (just south of CKP 1) less than a week from now, Nov 30. We will begin early the next day and complete the trip in Everglades City, Dec 3, about 110 miles. We plan to camp overnight at the Ranger Station in EC on the 3rd before splitting on Dec 4 and heading home. Maybe some of you might join us. We have lit candles in the hope of decent winds, we hope, we hope!

Chekiki looks like you had fun the first leg and the pic are great. Just a heads up you may want to look at the FWC red tide map and plan your stops accordingly. We have red tide real bad on the north end of pine island. Got the throut tickle and dead fish in the air smell. They are still ok to the south. Just wanted to give a heads up. DWM

Thanks for the info, DWM. Ironically, we have been forced to change our launch from Eldred's because county ordinances do not allow tent camping. Where is my next choice: Bokeelia! Yes, the plan is to leave from next to Capt Con's Cafe about 3 pm, Nov 30. Winds are predicted to be about 17 mph out of south which will give us a nice ride and, perhaps, get us away from the red tide. We'll see...
