Who is going to the East Coast Canoe and Kayak Festival in Charleston, SC next weekend April 20-22.

You can register for the three day weekend for $115, or for $55 for a Daily Pass (Friday, Saturday, OR Sunday). http://ccprc.com/index.aspx?NID=473
This is a great opportunity to paddle new boats, try some used boats, try new gear on the water, take on-water classes from paddling experts (much like WaterTribers), enjoy seminars and presentations on topics from Navigation, techniques, SUPs, etc.
If you register by Monday night April 16th, you can still select courses on-line. Otherwise, you will have to wait in line to see that a course you wanted may be filled (like one with Greg Barton usually is). So register this weekend and see what you think. Here is the schedule of events. http://ccprc.com/index.aspx?NID=1224
And the beer on tap by the water Saturday night is good, but it goes fast. Then after the concert at the water, head to the pavilion on the other side of the park for an amazing Low Country Boil to wrap-up Saturday night.
For camping, do not be discouraged if the campground sites are full. Just tell them after you are registered that you want to camp in the overflow area. Its out back and a quick stroll to the showers in the campground. Some people hang hammocks in the trees back there. Pop your EC tent in the overflow area and you can squeeze in without a problem. Just get an overflow camping permit from the campground office and attach it to your tent
If you have any questions, ask me. I have been going to the ECCKF for about ten years.
I do not know if I will be able to make this year's ECCKF.
