Not certain, but irrespective, I encourage you to have one. Once you're wet, it turns into a much longer expedition....
This is intended for the Tribe in general and not just at DragonSlayer.
Our drysuit requirement is very open to interpretation because you Challengers are captains of your own boats and each of you are expected to experts in your chosen craft. That means you can interpret that rule in a way that makes sense to you.
In a CS17 I would want very good foul weather gear but not a full dry suit just as a matter of convenience. If I was on a Hobie AI or TI, I'd probably want the full drysuit because I would be sitting in water most of the time. In my Dreamcatcher I like to have a very good, breathable top suitable for kayaking, but because I have a storm cag I wear Mysterioso bottoms.
Just remember to be prepared for total submersion, low air and water temps, high winds, and heavy rain along with high temps and full sun. Be prepared for anything.
