As witnessed last year anything can happen over the race course. But within Class 5, how would you rate the speed of your boat to the competition? With so many differnt designs, catamaran / trimarrans, custom carbon, home built wood and fiberglass it is hard for me to understand other than w/ Sizzor how or boats compare in speed. Any thoughts?
Class 5 rankings?

Class 5 is the wild wild west. With a 40 year old 500+ pound trimaran, I know I can not win. But as the old saying goes, " 2 sailboats on the water and you know they are racing, they just may not admit it.". Fun to see the designs and upgrades. Teak had a new cool custom 21 trimaran with pedals. See ya on the beach in a week.

Any pictures available of Teak's boat... sounds interesting.

I saw Teak's boat. It looks really cool. It is going to be a real race between Teak and JollyRoger. That is why, to me, there is no real difference between class 5 and class 3. They should be combined as one class. Quacks like a duck, probably is a duck.

Teak,
Since you are posting your pictures to Photobucket, you are 99% of the way to posting to the forum.
When you are looking at your picture on Photobucket, there is a box called "Image Links" on the right. Click and copy the one called "IMG code" Paste it into your post, done.

SirTackalot and I both have Sailbird trimarans, although mine is sitting out this year while I participate solo in class 4. Next year, my trip will be back and it will be very interesting to compare the different, um, tacks the two of us have chosen to take with our boats. I have some verrrry interesting plans for Clarity, so having her sit ashore while the ideas bloomed was a great idea.
I have no interest in 'winning' per se, just finishing. But next year we are going to push really hard to finish as fast as we can... just to see how hard we can push ourselves!

Sailbirdmike, you might find this interesting, added access so I can dewater the amas if needed. Enclosed the forward cockpit area. The roller furling is a real plus. Comes by on Friday and I'll show you the upgrades. And when do we say enough a enough....ha
