Hello everyone, congrats on what appeared to be a very difficult year. I am sorry ( kind of :) that I was not able to attend this year. I am looking forward to coming next year - I am essentially ready to go with the kruger but I am exploring different options - I did a trip through the area prior to the race and think it might be more fun to do it in a sailing boat. I am looking at options, wondering if anyone has seen much if any sucsess with the CL 16s? Not really a rowing boat, so not sure what boats like these or other paddle challenged boats like catamarans do sans wind?

So I thought I would update my own post. The CL 16 is essentially the Wayfarer - a british racing dinghy. I have been talking with CL boatworks up here in Ontario ( they now produce the wayfarer under the name of CL 16 ) as well as the people at Shaw and Tenney looks like I can make it row OK with 9 foot oars, having a 6'1" beam, it is not going to be the fasted rowing machine but it would only need to row in dead calm anyway.

I would love to hear what others do with similar boats.. i.e. how do you row a Hobie cat??
