I'm going to be visting my in-laws in Dunnellon, FL the first week of June. "Nana" has agreed to babysit the twins for a couple of days while my wife and I spend some time paddling. Any suggestions for good day paddles in the area? I'd like to keep drive time within an hour or so of Dunnellon and paddling distances of 10 - 15 miles.

Titusville sailing club holds its' Annual Regatta the weekend 1&2 June. A Triak class has been permitted for both days; 12miles Saturday and six Sunday on a different course. Subject to demand The club would probably allow other small sailing craft to compete with the Triaks. Captains meeting 10am both days.Any takers??
There is no entry fee and no prizes, it is more in the nature of a promotion for small craft.

Weekiwachee. Crystal clear water and great swimming. Launch from the park on shoal line blvd and head upstream on the last hour or two of a falling tide, gives the clearest conditions. Bring a mask, snorkel, and fins. It's only four or five miles but there is a strong current and you can also head out to the gulf and explore there.
