   I have added code that will check two SPOTs per boat so the Captain and Crew can each have a SPOT. Note that only one track will show because both SPOTs will be associated with one boat.

   I only have one SPOT so I cannot give this a robust test. I am hoping some of you can help test it. We need at least 2 tests as follows:

   1. Turn on one SPOT and use it as the guidelines suggest. After several track point and a couple of OK messages shut the first SPOT off and turn on the second SPOT. Operate it for awhile using both tracking and OK messages. Your track in the mapper should show all points.
   2. Turn on both SPOTs. Set one in tracking mode for the duration of the trip. Use the other one just for OK messages for the duration of the trip. Your track in the mapper should show all points.

    

   Make sure both SPOTs are set for the same time zone.

   If you can think of other variations go ahead and do them.

   Let me know if anything looks wrong.

   Our main Spot worked both tracking and sending OK message, the backup Spot worked sending OK (I may have botched turning the tracking on, it was a bit hectic on the water today), and the mapper got both a track from the main Spot and an OK from the backup Spot at the same time. Looks like the dual Spot system is working.

   Dual SPOTs sort of worked. I spent all day yesterday working on it and I hope to get it 100% today. Thanks for helping with the testing.

   Question about the spot. It says that you need an EPIRB does the SPOT take over as the EPIRB or do you need boat??

    I'm not sure who said you need an EPIRB. For the WaterTribe events you must have at least one SPOT with tracking per boat. We also strongly recommend but do not require that each person have a PLB (small EPIRB) in his or her lifejacket.

   That combination is about as safe as you can get while on any outdoor adventure.
