Talking About Adventure In Small Boats
I'm taking some of my kayaking club on a trip in the Everglades next week, starting from Everglades City. Does anyone know a place we might camp nearby so we can get sites first thing when Ranger Station opens.

A couple yrs ago, a friend and I could not get any sites we wanted that day, so we signed up for sites starting the next day, and camped overnight along Tamiami Trail at Monument Lake. Not close, but we had our permit so we were not in that much of a hurry on our launch day. Coordinates for Monument Lake road: Lat 25.865071°, Lon -81.113984° according to Google Earth.

We usually stay at Collier Seminole State Park. It is on 41 and about a half hour from Everglades City.
