Is anyone else camping at the 34th Street Hampton Inn on Thursday and/or Friday night? Computingdoc and I each have rooms and would like to meet up with anyone else who may be there for breakfast on race day morning.

We will be there Thursday and Friday night. I think Pelican spoke to the hotel staff last year about opening breakfast early, so I suppose one of us should do the same...

Left voice mail with Tiffany the manager explaining our plea.
There is strenghth in numbers so anyone staying there Friday night let us know in this thread. BB opens at 6:00AM normally.

Nope, I am not staying at the Hampton.

Just double checked, I am staying at the Magnuson Hotel Marina. Lest expensive place I could find near Ft. Desoto though it does look rather nice. I am hoping to get a really good nights rest Friday night as opposed to last year.

Greybeard and I are staying there Friday night. 6 is WAY too late to eat breakfast. To shuttle trailer and truck to parking area and be ready for roll call at 6:30, you have to leave the Inn around 5. We usually swing through a fast food or cook oatmeal on the beach by headlamp.

We (IronBob, TheJuice and me) have eaten breakfast at the IHOP at 4199 34th S the last two years, which is quite a ways south of the motel toward Fort DeSoto. It's open 24 hours (I just called to confirm). If the hotel can't open significantly earlier than 6 am this could be an option. Looking forward to seeing all of you...and my pretzel bark and peaches from Michigan! ;-)

I'm staying at the Hampton on Friday.
Could I catch a ride to the beach from someone on Saturday morning?
I'm dropping my kayak off at Desoto and driving my vehicle to Key Largo on Thursday, and then flying back to Tampa on Friday morning.
Any help would be appreciated.

Gatorbait and Gatorbaitsmate, (Nanci and Jack ) will be there Friday night.
How come I am nervous now, and there are still two weeks to wait ?

Yakmandu we have room in the truck Saturday morning...
Driving to the beach from orlando area Friday so advise flight arrival at tampa intl perhaps we could pick you up enroute if you dont have a ride.
I'm thinking at this point the IHOP 4 minutes away and on the way will be better than the breakfast at the Hampton.
They were not crazy about setting up warm stuff any earlier.. just cold. A stack of pancakes sounds good..

Thanks for offering me a ride to Ft Desoto on Saturday morning. I'll take it!
My flight lands in Tampa at 12:45 pm on Friday. I plan on taking a cab to Ft Desoto. If you plan on passing by around that time, let me know. I know I'm cutting it close for the captain's meeting.
Thanks again,

Yakmandu, I'll be at the Tampa airport picking up Ben's mom and dad at 1 on Friday. If you end up needing a ride, let me know. I'll be heading right back to Ft DeSoto to make the meeting.
I've got room for one person, so if Yakmandu doesn't take it, someone else is welcome to the spot!

Yakmandu you have a ride Sat morning. Planning on IHOP on the way if that is OK.
If Northern light can pick you up at the airport that would be great!

BustedRudder, could you also send me your contact info? Breakfast sounds great!
