Bones has been west of CP3 for a day now without his icon moving but indicating he's doing 2.94kn. Anyone have a status on him? SPOT issue?

My guess is that Bones has dropped out and is no longer pressing his SPOT ok button. He did a great job, just too bad he didn't finish.

Bones was rescued, boat adrift.

Just got confirmation that Bones is ok. He is out of the race but ok.

The Spot tracks for Bones and Nomadic/Rover appear to tell an interesting tale. Looking forward to hearing the whole story.

I've been in contact with Bones. He is still in the hospital but doing OK. Hopes to be out by our Saturday party.

Hospital?!!

Yes, but don't know where. Probably in Marathon. Apparently, simply pushed himself too long and too hard.

So glad that Bones is okay. I highly recommend reading his book: Capt Bones and Miss Lynn. A fun, easy read about Bones and his wife selling their home, buying a boat, and cruising for around 8 years (inland waters, offshore up the Hudson River to the lakes, the "loop", and the Bahamas). I emailed him several times before the EC and had lunch with he and Lynn on our Friday EC beach day. I was looking forward to giving him a cold beer at the finish! Hope to see him tomorrow.

Can anybody share the story? Happy to hear he's ok.

Bones, Thank you for sharing your story at the banquet! Your courage and honesty make us all a bit safer out there. During the drive home I thought of your predicament. I'm sure many did..... the worst case scenario, being separated from your boat at night. I wear a headlight and have a spare in my dayhatch. Not anymore. Rigging for night will include moving spare light to PFD as the one on my head will be lost in the incident. Perhaps the VHF as well if I can find a small light one.
On the lighter side, couldn't help but notice your comments in the roster "Arrrrggghhh. Thar be dragons." Perhaps your comments next year should be "Arrrggghhh thar be cartoons on the GPS". :)
See you on the beach next year!
