Savannah Dan and I every year have talked about our goal for the EC. With the number of classes, it is not easy to be first in class, but doable. I don't think we will ever set the course record. I will leave that for the technology advanced who can stay up for 48 hours straight.
This year, we have decided to give ourselves a time from to arrive at Key Largo.
In 2015 we will arrive at Key Largo at 9:01 am, Saturday morning March 14.
We talked about the Friday the 13, but Savannah Dan is superstitious so we moved it back a bit.
My challenge is for each participant to set the time that they will be pulling up on Key Largo's beach. Then we will create a new award for those who nail their time perfectly, or be the closest to it. It might mean hanging out in Florida bay for a while, or even paddling at night (has anyone ever tried that?)
So we set our time, how about everyone else. Does anyone want to join us in creating a new system of recognition? Predicating how long it will take you to paddle or sail the 300 miles plus to the minute.
