Inspections! Yep they are there for a reason. Spend some time and reread all that boring stuff called rules and warnings. It’s listed in the events section in the event description.
Or better yet if you have done one these full events before, go up to someone you never seen before that look a little lost and help them! If they need to be inspected do it for them. Believe me you will be glad you reread all stuff even with the cheat sheet. Neat way to meet people and being on the other end it really helps a lot.
The people you see handing out paper work that are chained to the benches at the pavilion and do a thousand and one things all at once are indentured servants to Chief. He does not even allow them coffee breaks.(hint) (Say Thank You to them when they hand you your goodies and get the hell out of the way.) And find someone else to do your inspection please!
For both of you know the difference between required and suggested equipment. A roll of quarters, nope you do not have to carry them in your 28 lb yak. There is a payphone in Flamingo though in front of the store. Verizon does not work, ATT mostly. I would suggest 1 dollar bills, nice to have to offer a fishing boat for drinking water and maybe a couple of twenties if you can not resist a Cabbage Key, Little Havana (ck point 2) or Goodland meal or need a taxi.
If you done this before you should be set up in enough time to help someone in the middle of your stuff.
Try to stay close to your own class for better results. (As I usually do class 3 I feel kinda funny asking a class 4 if they have a paddle float.) Making sure someone can stay kinda dry and get warm is what I stress. See ya on the beach and some before.
